Chitra is a Managing Director and the Head of Data Technology and Architecture at Oaktree
Capital Management. Her primary responsibilities are transforming and building Oaktree’s data
platforms to enable reporting and analytics at-scale. Prior to joining Oaktree in 2021, she was the
CTO and Global Head of Wealth Management Data and Analytics, in the Asset and Wealth
Management division at J.P. Morgan Chase, leading large-scale data engineering platforms and
products to enable trading, reporting and analytics. Prior to joining JP Morgan, Chitra held
several technology strategy and leadership roles in Global Markets, Investment Banking and
Wealth Management at Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch. Chitra also has entrepreneurial
experience, successfully running her own company to provide product and consulting services to
financial services clients. Chitra started her professional career with the automation technology
division of Asea Brown Boveri (ABB), designing Solid State Interlocking devices for Railway
signaling Systems in Denmark and India.

Chitra received a B.S. (honors) in Electrical and
Electronics Engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani.
Chitra is passionate about providing mentorship and training to young adults from underserved
communities to pursue technology careers. She also actively mentors young women to pursue
careers in STEM and thrive in technical roles. She enjoys traveling for leisure, and is an avid
foodie and cook.
